Community of the Year

Requirements
The Community of the Year Award is bestowed upon the builder whose project combines the best overall products, site, advertising, promotion, on-site presentation and architectural design. Judges will grade the entries in various different categories and the cumulative total score will be used to determine the Community of the Year.
The written submission should include an outline of why you believe your community is deserving of the Community of the Year Award, including information on the entire community (open spaces, recreation areas, site plan, logo, innovative streetscapes, etc.).
Note: DRHBA reserves the right to perform a project audit for finalists in this category.

Awarded to a professional member for outstanding corporate and/or individual attitude, cooperation, and service to associates and the industry as a whole. Involvement in professional associations, and service and innovation that greatly benefits the residential construction industry are hallmarks of award-winning professionals.

Green Builder of the Year
Requirements
This award highlights the Home Building Company that raises the bar for the rest of the industry through its leadership in improving the environment, energy efficiency, deep greening, and overall technical image of the industry. This award will be given to the company that is pushing the limits to help reduce the impact of the building and development sector on the environment, in particular through energy-efficiency and low carbon construction techniques.
Judging Criteria:
Consumer education: Provide examples of marketing and promotional material that promotes the depth of greening and/or energy efficiency, provide the specifications that document the green features and leadership that is provided to purchasers and/or marketing information to attract people to you.
Environmentally friendly building designs and techniques: Provide a narrative description and photographs of a project you have completed in the past year that demonstrates your company's dedication to advancing sustainable design and construction in the home building industry, in particular through low carbon/energy efficient approaches.
Leadership in advancing green building awareness: Within the residential construction industry, what committees, Boards, or agencies does your company participate on to improve green building awareness? Provide written examples or company ‘resume'.
Leading-edge waste management strategies: What does your company do to reduce, reuse, or recycle over and above regulation?
Community service: Provide written details of involvement or enhancement in greening your community.
Support of industry: Raising the awareness of the industry, promotion of the association, volunteer participation. Provide written details/examples.

People's Choice Award
Requirements
Finalists for the DRHBA People's Choice award are based upon the finalists for the DRHBA Builder of the Year (Small Volume and Large Volume), Renovator of the Year, Supplier or Manufacturer of the Year, and Trade of the Year. Finalists from the listed categories are automatically entered into the People's Choice Award. DRHBA members and the public are welcome to vote for the DRHBA People's Choice winner once finalists are announced in March.
How it works:
• Once judging is complete and finalist are announced a link will be placed on the DRHBA website for DRHBA members and the public to vote. It is asked that each person only votes once.
• Submitters are not required to apply, submit, or pay for People's Choice as it is based on if they become a finalist in one of the categories listed above.
• Voting will open once finalists are released. Voting will close April 21st, 2023.
